About the Artist

Claudia Borgna was born in Germany and raised in Italy. Her installations made out of recycled plastic bags have been exhibited internationally and awarded in several occasions. Claudia’s cultural formation developed at the University of Genoa in Italy, at the London Metropolitan University in the UK, and at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Her academic experience could not be complete without the knowledge gathered by the beach and sea, in the countryside and in the streets of villages, provinces and metropolises. Through installation, performance and video art Claudia explores the political, social and environmental functions of art making. Her work is an ongoing observation questioning how the “plastic” and the natural realms interact with one another by creating new ephemeral structures and orders.
