Artist’s Statement

Whether it’s a quiet observation, a joyous frolic, or a leap of faith, these experiences inspire my imagination to elaborate on ideas and to turn them into paintings.

About the Artist

I was born in Los Angeles and got a fine arts degree at Cal State Long Beach. Later, I took workshops with noted painter Ovanes Berberian, and my interest in oil painting took root.

I live in Bonny Doon just north of Santa Cruz. I usually work in my studio at home, but sometimes paint outdoors.

I often participate in the Santa Cruz County Open Studios Tour, and will again this October.

When I’m not painting, I enjoy ballet dancing and singing with a girl band.
