Artist’s Statement

I create constructions and art installations with commonplace objects and materials that people have used and discarded over time, revealing shifts in culturally shared values and practices. I am especially attracted to relics of the past and the process by which they illuminate and inform contemporary social, environmental and political contexts. The impetus for my art making is calling attention to life’s temporality and the shared human desire to remember.
