Artist’s Statement

My images are often “snap shots” of moments in my life. By manipulating line, shape, texture, composition, tone and color; time is contained within my practice without the load of academic explanations.

About the Artist

In my last exhibition this was written about me: “Stephen Namara is an American artist born in Kenya and educated in the United States, best known for his drawings and paintings of portraits, objects and landscapes. He lives and works in San Francisco.”
